We spend one night in Oaxaca in a 'shaggy' cabana on top of the roof of the hostel. We saw some nice churches, some viewpoints and some parks, before taking a bus to Cuajimoloyos, guacamole city.
Here we arrived at dawn in a big lightning and thunderstorm.
Nowhere a hotel to be seen, so we waited in a shop where a nice lady helped us. Two drunk guys, one of them turned out to be our guide the next day, brought us to an eco hotel, with beds where even I had problems sleeping.
We had candles because there was no electricity and no hot water, which would be nice over here because it gets pretty cold at night and we were soaked. The lack of hot water turned out not to be a problem of electricity, they just didn't have any. For the next two days we hired a guide which showed us around to some superb nature, lookout points, waterfalls and forest. At times we felt more like caving or spelunking than hiking and the guide was great for upgrading our Spanish. One evening we thought a great sunset would appear but a huge cloud started to trouble us. We did have some superb views of the mountains, saw many colibries and enjoyed the mystics of the incoming fog. Back in Oaxaca we dined French on the roof of an old colonial building, took photos of dogs and people in the park and took a night bus to Puerto Escondido. The question was, was it Brigitte who tried to push the dog in the right photo position or was it the dog playing with Brigitte?
