And suddenly I was in the tropics. Oil palm trees all over the place, sweating continuously, having bad nights because of the heat and humidity and mosquito’s so many that you accept of getting bitten. In Omoa it was so bad that during sunset I had to wear long trousers and socks for protection. And I was actually lucky, because I slept in a tent and could kill all the mosquito’s before starting to sleep. The people in the dorms transformed in red spotted aliens with big nasty bites. Malaria and dengue all over the place but not many travelers seemed to care, some even didn't take anti malaria. But that's something where I have been wondering about many times. There are so many ignorant travelers who don't care about diseases, some hardly know about the necessary injections. I did some kayaking, played with local kids on the dock ramp by throwing them of it and pulling them back on. And weather-wise and mosquito wise, the water was the best place to be.
